Your completeness will not be found in mans words, but in Gods Word. Don't you get tired of all the motivational speeches and cliches that maybe stick around and make a difference for a day or two but then your right back to the same powerless life you know all to well. It's like a new piece of clothing that you want; you see it and everything inside of you turns on. Your eyes become laser focused, your feet walk a little bit faster and then you reach out and grab that item, and you can already feel the transformation happening within you. You purchase your item and you can't wait to get home and put it on because once it's on, you're like a whole new person. You come alive, you feel better about yourself, you walk a little taller, until the nights over and you throw whatever it was on the floor and more than likely this thing you had to have that was going to change your world will be tossed among all the rest of the meaningless purchases you have made.
That is what motivational cliches can be like when their is no power behind them. Here is an example of one that has good intent. "It's not whether you fall down but whether you get back up." OK, but when I fall and I mean take a blow to the head kind of a fall, how does that good intent phrase help me get back up again? What power lies within these words? I'm not saying this is a bad thing to say to someone, but if it is not coupled with life and power, It will become like the meaningless purchase. Let me give you another example of motivational words but they have power and life behind them. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18. I love it when the God of the universe makes bold statements like "is close" or "will Rescue". There is no guessing about this. These our promises God gives to His children. I promise you He is the only Truth and Only way to make it through this life. Believe in His Living Word.
